Washington Fiduciary Services

Serving Clients in Bellevue and the Surrounding Area

General information

A fiduciary is someone who acts for and on behalf of another in a particular matter. A fiduciary duty is the highest standard of care at either equity or law.

Fiduciaries are expected to be extremely loyal to the person to whom he or she owes the duty, the “principal.” The fiduciary must not put his or her personal interests before the duty to the principal, and must not profit from the position as fiduciary, unless the principal consents.

Fiduciary relationships are highlighted by good faith, loyalty, and trust, and the word itself originally comes from the Latin fides, meaning faith, and fiducia.
